The $1.35 billion Dallas ISD Bond Election passed with 10,178 voting for, and 8,693 voting against. I want to thank the constituents for supporting this much-needed bond. The bond package will allow us to do the following:
* Construct 15 new schools (8 elementary schools, 4 middle schools and 3 high schools),
* Build new additions in 12 existing schools creating 177 classrooms,
* Renovate more than 200 schools,
* Build 19 new science labs at 6 existing secondary schools,
* Provide classroom and lab computers, campus supporting infrastructure and interactive student technology as well as classroom presentation devices,
* Refurbish the district’s regional sports complexes, and
* Renovate kitchens at 16 schools and expand lunchrooms at 22 campuses.
Now, it is time for Dallas ISD administration to get to work. Within the next year, you should see many of the projects underway. We’re on our way to having better schools for our students; our future.
Again, thank you Dallas ISD contituents for supporting us.
